Domino is one of the most popular games in the world for both young and old.
What is Domino?
It is a game that uses long, rectangular tiles, also called dice. Each of them is divided in half, and each half has dots from 0 to 6.
Rules of the game
The most popular version of dominoes is the so-called blocking. The game begins by shuffling all the dice, which are then dealt to the players (usually 7 dice). One player starts by placing one of their dice on the table. The next player must place their dice so that the number of dots on one end of their dice matches the number of dots on the end of the dice lying on the table.
If a player does not have the right dice, they lose their turn or must draw a dice from the pool, if such an option is allowed. The game continues until one player gets rid of all their dice or until none of the players can make a move. The winner is the player who gets rid of all their dice first, or who has the fewest points on their dice when the game is blocked.
Variations of the game
Dominoes have many variants. In addition to the aforementioned blocking, other popular ones include:
- Scoring: players score points for placing a die that causes the total dots on the open ends to be a multiple of five.
- Double nine or double twelve: versions of the game with more dice, where each die can have from 0 to 9 or from 0 to 12 dots.
- Mexican dominoes: a more complex variant of the game, often played with more players, where each player creates their own "train" of dice.
The set includes:
- 28 Domino cubes - metal box
Size of one tile:
- approx. 5 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm
Uses and benefits
In addition to being a popular pastime, dominoes are often used as an educational tool to learn mathematics, develop logical thinking skills and strategy. Playing dominoes can also improve concentration and social skills, as it requires players to interact and plan.
Domino is a game with a long history that is still very popular around the world, among both children and adults. In the Jokomisiada store you will find many educational, skill and strategy games. We invite you!
